# Generate Shopify Coupon

**What it does:**\
Creates a unique discount coupon in Shopify with predefined rules (discount type, value, expiry, etc.) and returns the generated coupon code for use later in the flow.

**When to Use:**

* When offering discounts dynamically during a WhatsApp conversation<br>
* To incentivize purchase completion (e.g., abandoned cart recovery)<br>
* For promotional campaigns where each user gets a unique coupon<br>
* When you need to generate and send a coupon code in real time<br>

**UI Inputs:**

* **Discount Type**
  * Type: Dropdown<br>
  * Required: Yes<br>
  * Description: Defines how the discount is applied<br>
  * Options: Percentage / Fixed Amount<br>
  * Special Behavior: Defaults to “Percentage”<br>
* **Discount Value**
  * Type: Number<br>
  * Required: Yes<br>
  * Description: Value of the discount (e.g., 10 for 10% or ₹10 depending on type)<br>
* **Expiry in Days**
  * Type: Number<br>
  * Required: Yes<br>
  * Description: Number of days before the coupon expires<br>
  * Special Behavior:
    * 0 = No expiry (coupon remains valid indefinitely)<br>
* **Discount Code Prefix**
  * Type: Text<br>
  * Required: Yes<br>
  * Description: Prefix used to generate the coupon code (e.g., “SALE”, “WELCOME”)<br>
  * Special Behavior: Final coupon code is auto-generated using this prefix<br>

**Outputs:**

* **coupon\_code**
  * Type: Text<br>
  * Meaning: The generated Shopify coupon code that can be shared with the user or used in later steps<br>

**Requirements:**

* **Supported Events:**
  * All events<br>
* **Required Integrations:**
  * Shopify<br>

**Notes:**

* Each coupon is created with **single-use (individual use)** by default<br>
* Usage limit is automatically set to **1 use per coupon**<br>
* Coupon is generated in real time, so it can be immediately sent to the user<br>
* Ensure Shopify integration is properly configured, or the node will fail<br>
* Prefix should be meaningful for tracking campaigns (e.g., FESTIVE, WINBACK)
