# Handoff Conversation to Agent

**Node Name:**\
Handoff Conversation to Agent

***

**What it does:**\
Transfers the ongoing conversation from the current automation flow to a selected AI agent (agentic chatbot), allowing that agent to take over and continue the interaction.

***

**When to Use:**

* When you want to switch from rule-based automation to an AI-driven conversational experience
* In high-intent scenarios (e.g., product discovery, conversion flows)
* When a specialized agent (e.g., Sales bot) should handle the conversation
* After collecting initial user inputs via flow and handing over for dynamic conversation
***

**UI Inputs:**

* **Agent Selection**
  * Type: Dropdown (pre-configured agents)
* Required: Yes
* Description: Select the agent that should take over the conversation
* Special Behavior:
    * Options are fetched from available configured agents
* Currently shows only the Sales agent.
* **Prompt**
  * Type: Text
* Required: No
* Description: Initial instruction or context passed to the agent to guide its behavior
* Special Behavior:
    * Helps define how the agent should start or handle the conversation
* **Configuration Data**
  * Type: Text
* Required: No
* Description: Additional structured data or context passed to the agent
* Special Behavior:
    * Can be used for advanced configurations or metadata
* **Pass Conversation Context**
  * Type: Boolean (True/False toggle)
* Required: Yes
* Default: False
* Description: Determines whether previous conversation history is shared with the agent
* Special Behavior:
    * True → Agent gets full prior conversation context
* False → Agent starts fresh without past context
***

**Outputs:**

* **successful**
  * Type: Boolean
* Meaning:
    * true → Handoff to agent was successful
* false → Handoff failed
***

**Requirements:**

* **Supported Events:**
  * All (*all*)
* **Required Integrations:**
  * None
***

**Notes:**

* This is a **bot-to-agent (AI agent)** handoff, not a human agent assignment
* Typically used mid-flow to transition into a more flexible, AI-driven experience
* Works best when combined with proper prompt/context setup to guide agent behavior
* If “Pass Conversation Context” is disabled, ensure prompt/config provides enough context for the agent to function properly
