## Key Concepts

* **E-commerce Storefront:** An E-commerce storefront is an online solution for business owners to advertise and sell products and services over the internet. Shopify, Woo-commerce, Magento, etc. are examples of some popular E-commerce storefronts used by brands to create their websites.
* **Events:** In the context of a marketing platform, an event is an action performed by a customer or the stakeholders involved in a customer’s purchase journey, using which one can make meaningful conclusions about the customer & take some action based on that if needed. For example, making a purchase, adding a product to cart, cancelling an order are some events where the action has been performed by the customer. Order delivered, order shipped are some events where the action has been performed by a stakeholder(delivery partner here) involved in customer’s purchase journey.
* **Flows:** Flows are automated marketing campaigns, that are initiated based on the occurrence of an event. For example, a possible flow can be where a message to collect feedback is sent to the customer after 7 days of his/her purchase. Here, customer making a purchase is the event, and the campaign has been set to send a message after 7 days automatically.
* **Segments:** A segment is a group of customers that share a common trait or multiple common traits. Segmentation helps you analyse your target market & understand the different customer needs or behaviours that exist. For example, the set of all those customers who purchased anti-dandruff shampoos. This is a segment which possibly shares the common trait of hair dandruff being a concern.
* **Broadcast:** These are manually configured marketing campaigns that reach out to customers in bulk (maybe a segment or all customers). For example, sending a message to all customers of a brand informing about Diwali Sale launch.
